In this course you will encounter Jesus, discover your gifts, and be empowered to step into all that you are made for.
This course is also designed to be the launching pad for discipleship and the pathway to becoming covenant partners with AVL City Church.
Through it you will learn more about our story, beliefs, values, culture, and rhythms of ministry through several short videos, links, and resources.
Our desire is that every one of us would take the abundant life Jesus offers beyond the Sunday worship experiences and into our homes, schools, workplaces, and social gatherings.

The reason for doing this last part in person is that in this digital age, we are starving for community and craving authentic, meaningful connection. This is true for all humanity because God designed us for connection as a universal desire: to be seen, heard, known, and to be a part of something larger than life. We are hardwired to be grounded, accepted and to know that we matter. This is not by default, but by design. You are here because you are loved, wanted, and needed.
It’s our heart for people to know and experience God, find friends and freedom, and to be empowered to make a difference. This is not just about head knowledge, but to truly know and understand from experience a knowledge of the heart. Everything we long for begins when we encounter the presence of God and step into a relationship with Him. God leads us and connects us to His family.
We have found that the best way for you to belong is through teams & crews. We encourage everyone to join a Crew and become part of a Team. This is where we get to be a part of the story God is writing and to step into meaningful relationships. Through teams & crews, we are able to serve and by serving, we discover and develop what we are made for.
